ABOUT US

The North Penn Sports Commission, managers of the North Penn High School Sports Museum, was founded in October 2006 by Art Wurster [class of 1962]. Previously he founded the North Penn/Souderton Area Sports Hall of Fame in 1990 and the North Penn Alumni Athletic Association and Sports Hall of Fame in 2000. The museum preserves the rich sports history of North Penn High School and the original high schools from Lansdale,Hatfield and North Wales which formed the jointure in September of 1955. North Penn is the only high school in Pennsylvania to have a sports museum according to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association. In the spring of 2008 Art was joined by Dave DeFranco and Gary Fry [both class of 1963] to form the Founders Committee.

The museum's grand opening fall sports exhibit was held at North Penn High School in October of 2008 followed by the winter and spring sports exhibit in April of 2009. The commission currently possesses thousands of memorabilia and is constantly adding to the collection. The high school also loans memorabilia for exhibits.

This Museum is NOT on North Penn High School campus. In June of 2009 the commission made the decision to put the museum online, as a visual tour, for alumni and the the public around the world to view.

A huge thank you goes out to Lansdale Library, North Wales Library, Hatfield and Lansdale Historical Societies, our corporate partner Lansdale Warehouse and it's president [Paul Delp class of 1961], Don Ryan [class of 1958] North Penn High School Athletic Director and the North Penn School District staff members who helped bring the museum to reality and their continuing support.
